I had an excellent visit with Doctor Chukwumah, he is a great listener, shows that he cares about his patients, and explained the previous test results so I could understand exactly what going on and what my options are in the future. I highly recommend Doctor Chukwumah. Thank you and your Staff.

Dr. Chukwumah is a true professional, and I think the same about his entire team. He took the time to explain the procedure and addressed all of my questions and concerns. The process is clearly explained and I was given a booklet detailing everything as it would happen, as well as what was expected from me. Now, a bit over one month after the procedure, I can definitively say that all the information Dr. Chukwumah provided was on point and helped make the process go smoothly. Moreover, he is a good guy with a positive attitude. Thank you Dr. Chukwumah; I am grateful to you and your team.

I give Dr. Chukwuhma a 5 star review. He was professional on my visit and exam. He offered clear information and I have no complaints about him as a medical provider. His office staff on the other hand, (rolling my eyes). I will make my comments here known, not so much for complaint but I hope MORE as a learning opportunity. My visit with him was 8/1/23. I needed a CTscan and I remember as a healthcare worker myself, I interviewed with Hartford Healthcare for a few RMA positions. The job was described to me as a position that MAs had to follow through. Schedule the patients for whatever test needed, get the authorization for any test needed from the patient’s insurance, send the correct order for the test of where the patient selected to have their imaging done and schedule their post imaging visit to discuss results. This was not done for me. First, I was giving a referral for another patient to see GI. (I don’t need to explain what is wrong with that. As healthcare workers, you know. And I mentioned it to the MA telling her to be careful next time). I was then given the order for my CTscan and told to select a place of imaging and call them myself for an appointment. They gave me a list of places and a barium. After thinking on it I chose the place convenient to me due to my work location. This office tried to push for me to go elsewhere, but by 8/3/23, I have the my chart message where I wrote their office to confirm the location I’d selected and that I’d had called them first, but they were requesting their office fax them the order first. Once they did, this location called me to schedule my appointment. I agreed that I’d get reports and CD of images to bring to their office once the test was done. This past week on 8/18/23 the office had not called my insurance for prior authorization yet, the MA told me I hadn’t told them which office I was going to go to (even though I have the message from 8/3/23 on MyChart of the location the office faxed the order to)

It was great to meet Dr. Chukwumah. Very impressed with how he explained my complex hernia issue with honesty, yet caring approach. So glad I went - wonderful doctor! His medical assistant, Ashley was great as well!

This doctor has all the qualities you would hope to find in the specialty surgeon he is - he makes the patient feel respected, at ease due to his mild friendly manner and is completely informative! After he explains the expected treatment and covers all the steps to expect you have no need for additional questions - this was an initial consultation for me and he appeared thoroughly prepared after he had previewed my history and that made me feel much at ease since he was well prepared to discuss my case. If you are in need of his services do not hesitate to go his way and you will find it very worthwhile.

Very nice experience, shortest wait for any doctor I have seen in the past. Update; I went through surgery with flying colors, and I’m recovering nicely at home. All went well at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Chukwumag is an excellent surgeon and I definitely recommend him.

Dr Chike Chukwauma I feel is an excellent surgeon and also is his nursing staff. Very caring and attentive I would recommend him to anyone that needs a complicated surgery.

Dr. Chukwumah has been my surgeon for over 13 years helping me manage several hernias. He is always very supportive and friendly. I wouldn’t trust any other surgeon to help me.

Dr. Chukwumah is an outstanding surgeon. After meeting with him I felt so much better and comfortable with him and his personality and his knowledge and answered every question I had wrote down for my visit. Him and the office staff and nurses were so nice and very thorough. So glad I went to him as he is the best Hernia surgeon at Hartford Hospital. Thank you to all of you.

Dr. Chuckwumah's initial consultation with me couldn't have been better. He was familiar with my health history; he explained, in detail ,the procedure I needed . He thoughtfully and patiently answered all my questions and described, perfectly how I should proceed in my decision to have the abdominal surgery I need as I am in my nineties but need the surgery. Without question I would use Dr. Chuckwumah for the surgery I need. My experience with him was outstanding.
